import ...

Today I have been wondering about what function (or language features) I would most like to bring into Real Life.

Some thoughts:

  • gc() I probably needed more a year or two back ... but it's an obvious goodie.
  • YUI's stopEvent() and stopPropagation() would be super handy*, but when I walk into a crowded room, I'd rather have jQuery at hand. Not that I go to bars very often now I'm of breeding disposition.
  • I know the Python kids love from __future__ import * and who wouldn't. Except from __future__ import t2000. Grr.
  • efficient redirection is critical for any useful things to get done, so hand me my pipe, without which I wouldn't be where I am today. For better or worse. Probably zero sum.

* I mean }}} (>.<) {{{ handy
